Something to think about.
Just because you prayed to the Lord and God has forgiven you, doesn't mean you are totally free from all of the fallout from your sin.
There are ALWAYS repercussions for living outside of the spiritual law of God. It takes a moment to sin, a moment to repent; but it can take a lifetime to crawl out from underneath the fallout from your sin.
God forgave King David for sinning with Bathsheba. But David still lost his children accept for one.
God forgave Abraham for creating Ishmael. But to this day there is friction in the Middle East due to Abraham's bad decision.
Neither does asking for forgiveness necessarily free you from all the junk you carry!
Many of you are still dealing with the results from your acts of rebellion against God. And they're not going to go away any time soon. You've caused your life to enter a detour.
Yet God in His mercy can still turn the detour into part of your overall journey, but NOT if you don't love Him. And Jesus described loving Him as keeping His commandments. *John 14:21
You can't claim to love Christ if you refuse to stop sinning. God ain't buying it! So honest repentance is key.
I've met more junk-filled Christians than I could shake a stick at! People carrying all types of mental/emotional/spiritual viruses. Folks who are still reluctant to relinquish some of their most cherished inner demons.
They're not usually hard to spot. Though they think they are. These are the holy rollers with the colorful bible pages due to all the highlighting and underlining of scripture they've done. Who are in church every time the door opens.
They're at every conference, every revival, every event: yet their personal lives are filled with more junk, drama and nonsense than a heathen in the streets!
Its time for more realness; more authenticity.
We all know that God is forgiving. That's not even up for debate. But there's a huge difference between being forgiven for something and being completely unburdened from all the junk you might still be carrying from having done it.
Accepting God's forgiveness is just a step in the process. So make sure you don't stop there. Keep going!
Its also important to be aware that what you do today could have negative repercussions for the rest of your days.
