Only Love Matters

As the evening wore away, cold breeze started running through my long black hair, as I was walking by the seaside enjoying the marvelous sight of the startling huge star setting back to welcome the presence of tiny shimmering stars. I couldn't help but to become mesmerized when I gaze at the beautiful creation of the creator. Often had I drowned in my thoughts when I think of how wonderfully we are made as humans.
Talking of humans, have I wished my beloved friend who has stepped into her 20th birthday? Feeling anxious, I ran towards my phone and dialed her number like a mad cow. The phone rang and she picked up the call saying, “I thought you’d be the first person to wish me, but you forgot about my birthday didn’t you?” with a grin on my face I said, “Happy birthday girl, sure have I been carried away in nature’s arms and time is running swiftly with my folks and Janu over here,” and our conversation lasted for a couple of minutes. As we ended the call, I realized how much I love her as my friend. I remembered the eight years we had spent side by side, laughing and teasing each other from high school. Memories filled up the rooms of my heart and all I wished for us was to be besties forever more.
On the next day, after spending wonderful time with my family at the beach we moved on in our four wheeler towards the Mountain of Angels where the public are allowed to camp at the mountain without littering the place. The place was named as such due to the magnificent view it offered the hikers. Throughout our road journey Mr Sun was shining bright enough to make us feel exhausted, but as soon as we reached the place and got out of the car, the sweet fragrance of blossoming flowers and the refreshing air at the green hill made excitement rush through our veins. Putting on our hiking shoes and hats on our heads, not forgetting bag packs, we started off hiking from the base of the mountain.
Hiking is often a tough outdoor activity, but hiking with my family members is like icing on the cake. I just love to be around my parents. The way they love each other with tolerance and humility often brightens me up. As for my sister, she is the best company whom can annoy me the best! (laughs) But I do love her as much as I love my parents.
Coming back to the hiking story, it took us about two hours to reach the peak because we had mini breaks in the middle of our journey. We were at the peak at sharp 4’o clock in the afternoon and the clouds seemed so beautiful, unevenly spread out into the ocean like sky. The sky was crystal clear and the light blue color of the sky fascinated me. Standing at the peak of the mountain made me wish to fly like the birds soaring through the clouds. I thought heaven on earth was the best phrase to describe the beauty my eyes were feasting on at such an elevated point. As I turned my eyes to see in a lower view of all the buildings, cities and roads, I told to the ones around me, “It sure is a huge world around us”.
My mom walked slowly towards me and wrapped her arms around me saying, “And it is love that makes the world go round sweetheart,”. “Yeah,” agreed my dad throwing his arms around my sister. That made me understand that life isn’t always about luxury or money. It is the good relations we earn that matters the most.
People often think of money as something ultimately important, but the truth is money is meant for relationship. The true meaning of poverty is a luxurious life without harmonious relationships. There is nothing you cannot do when you have people who love you with a true love. Ever since then I learnt a good lesson to prioritize the people I love the most like my  parents, my siblings, relatives and friends, because it is good companionship that makes our life colorful. In other words, relations are like the vast sky we can see. Other things are just meant for the sake of relationship, like the tiny shimmering stars which excites us, but without the sky there’s no space for the stars to shine. Remember that and embrace ohana!
